DUI Lawyer

Driving Under the Influence

A DUI Lawyer will defend you when you have been caught driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
If someone you know has been through this before, they may be happy to recommend their DUI Lawyer for you.
You need to find a DUI Lawyer that you trust.  The DUI Lawyer will become your most important ally.
He or she will influence how you spend the rest of your life.

Because jails are becoming overcrowded, some departments of law enforcement have allowed jail sentence alternatives for a DUI. Of course you should talk with your DUI Lawyer about it first, but here are a few jail alternatives that DUI offenders can consider:

"City Jail" or "Weekend Jail" - Instead of staying in jail for consecutive weeks or months, this is something the DUI Lawyer might suggest. With this option, offenders check themselves into jail for the whole weekend.  Depending on your circumstances, the DUI Lawyer may have a good chance of getting this option for you.

House Arrest - this is an option in which offenders are permitted to stay home, but an electronic monitoring device has to be worn at all times.  Your DUI Lawyer will advise you if this option is open to you.  Advise the Lawyer if this is not your preference.

Work Release - A partial confinement program often recommended by a DUI Lawyer, in which offenders have to work at a job site that has been given to them. In this type of program DUI offenders are allowed to go home at night to sleep.

Work Furlough - A situation in which offenders can go to work at their regular job during the day, but after work they have to go back to the "dorm" to sleep.

Alcohol or drug rehabiliation - Many DUI offenders, especially repeat offenders, have serious issues with alcohol abuse. A good DUI Lawyer can present a strong case that going through a rehabilitation program instead of going to jail could be better for the offender.  Your DUI Lawyer can arrange the rehab for you.

Sober Living Home - A living situation in which a DUI offender is assigned to live with other offenders in a home. All residents of the home work together to talk about their issues with alcoholism or drug addiction. In most cases, people in a sober living home have to take 12-step classes or have one-on-one time with a rehab counselor.  Any DUI Lawyer can arrange these classes for you as well as a counselor.

It's highly recommended to hire an experienced DUI Lawyer who has the expertise in negotiating jail alternatives for DUI offenders. A good DUI Lawyer can help guide you in choosing the best option that will work for your situation.

Remember, this DUI Lawyer will influence how you spend the rest of your life.   Find a DUI Lawyer you feel you can trust. Your DUI Lawyer will be your best ally.
