It can be a total waste of time for yourself and the lawyer in question if you are not totally prepared for your meeting with a personal injury lawyer. If the meeting is with a no win, no fee solicitor, then you can relax a little, but if not, then it can end up costing yo more money than it could have done.
The solicitor will need to know how you can be contacted and also who you are plus a little personal background. A solicitor will also make a first meeting more productive by giving you a questionnaire which is to fill out. If you do receive a questionnaire in the post, then make sure you do complete it before you arrive at the solicitor's office - it will save you time and money in the long run. Also send copies of any available documents that might be useful in the meeting.
Before you actually get too far into the meeting (or conversation) - the lawyer might want to know about any conflicts of interest, so make sure you bring any company or individual names along with you.
Written documentation of your actual injury or damages will also be important, so it is useful to have these to hand in the meeting - make sure you bring them. It is a great idea to bring a copy of the relevant documents and not the originals as they may get damaged.
